Good weekend!

On Friday, I took a test that I was embarrassingly unprepared for. I checked my answers afterward, and I’m pretty sure I somehow got an A because I happened to study the right thing. I was so excited that I came home and promptly passed out at 10am. Not even Tim Gunn could keep me awake.

After nap time, and what I felt was well-deserved loafing, I went to Williamsburg to meet Demelza for a drink at the skee ball bar before we headed to what I decided to call Hipster Cabaret. This is not really its name. But it amused me to call it that. The show was good! Mostly comedians, but they also had the silk dancer again (you know, think Pink at the Grammys) and this guy Reggie Watts who was pretty amazing. After the show was over, they folded up the stage and had a dance party, and I swear, the people dancing put on as good of a show as the cabaret. I wished that Bill had been there so we could compete with some of our signature interpretive dance moves.

Saturday Dan and I went to see his friend play music in a church in Greenpoint. Something about churches makes it impossible for me to behave appropriately. But the music was beautiful and interesting. One piece was performed by a couple, with the guy on piano and the girl on the cello. I felt like their connection was palpable as they played this piece they’d written together. It was kinda magical.
